Carrying our angels into the new year - 2023

In our little town in North Idaho, we do a couple polar bear plunges in the handful of lakes nearby. The polar bear plunges are usually a fundraiser event where you run in to the lake at very cold temperature to wash away the past year and welcome into the new year.

As terrible as last year was losing Fallon, I would never want to wash it away as she was born, she was here, and she was real. In her memory and the memory of all of our beautiful babies, we made these little butterflies, to release them into our favorite lake nearby on New Year's Day. We asked the community on social media if they wanted their child's name to a butterfly of their own, as this was prior to Fallon's Flight.

Instead of washing away this past year, we are carrying them into the new year and letting them fly high on the wings of our love.

131 babies' names we collected that should be in our arms instead of our hearts as the calendar switched from 2022 to 2023.

Sending off our messages to our babies on wings of love into the new year hit me as we stood on the edge of the dock, and I lost my footing as I released them. We added a handful of extra butterflies for all the other babies who didn't get their name on a butterfly.

The butterflies landed in a heart shape, and we sat by the water's edge and watched the butterflies float away and become one with the water.

Blowing bubbles is important to us for many reasons and as we sat there, we blew bubbles until long after the butterflies dissolved watching each bubble dance across the water. The water was still, and the bubbles rolled across the water without popping, it was something to see.

Sweet baby, you are loved; you are remembered; we will never forget you; we will tell your story; we carry you on the wings of our love. It is not goodbye it is until we can hold you again.

The Butterflies

The butterflies are made from smartsolve paper that is water soluble, dissolves quickly in water and biodegradable.

🌱 Spring Remembrance 💐 Planting 🦋 2023

The seed paper is filled with wildflowers seeds and each angel that is signed up for the Angel Baby Club has one for themselves. Wildflowers have several symbolic meanings including happiness, joy, and remembrance. Many wildflowers represent strength and perseverance in the face of adversity. Others are linked with healing, renewal, and the circle of life.

I will share these beautiful barrels as they bloom for our angels throughout the year. I had planted some wild flower seeds prior to planting, so these barrels will have a lot more than what the seed paper produces. If you plant with us tag @fallons_flight

Floating into Hope Summer Remembrance - 2023

The Angel Baby Club in the summer Remembrance floating into Hope, a small town in North Idaho.

Meaning and symbolism is behind everything. The color pink is associated with various meanings and symbolism; innocence, purity, love, compassion, nurturing and hope. Roses are beautiful and can come across delicate but are strong and resilient. Pink roses in particular symbolize grace, gratitude and joy. Many words I find that are associated with our beautiful babies.

I chose the spot so our babies would float into Hope because hope can feel hard to come by after loss. Hope is something that I struggle with and I am sure that I am not alone. With this I hope you can find a way to nurture beauty and love that is around us in the world. I know it is hard, for me, when the clouds of grief overcome.

Planting this year to Bloom in the next - 2023

With another year coming to an end, I struggle with the fear of Fallon being left behind, and I know I am not alone. With that in mind, I needed action to have her come next year.

Last year I folded over 100 little butterflies on water-soluble paper and wrote each baby's name that was provided for me on a butterfly. I released them on New Year's Day at our favorite lake to bring them into the new year on the wings of a butterfly. This is what sparked creating the angel baby club for me.

This year I have felt a deep connection to flowers, so what better way than to plant a bulb this year to bloom next for all our babies? I had 4 varieties; 2 tulips and 2 daffodils. I put thought into each baby and what bulb they should get to bloom next year. I hope the flower your baby got speaks to you 🌷🌼

I picked this song because the Chris Martin from #coldplay said the song is about devotion, referring to unconditional and unrequited love for someone. The real type that everyone wants and deserves. The kind of love that is everything. The kind of love we have for our babies.

Wish Paper taking flight - 2023

2023 has come to an end but our babies are still with us. Time may be moving away from the moments we spent with them but we are also moving closer to a time we will be with them again. Our perfect babies lit up the sky last night and floated into the horizon to be with us for 2024.

This year I hope that you are able to find a new way to feel connected to your angel. I think this will always be changing as time moves forward. When the weight becomes unbearable and you find yourself facing the frustrating reality of our empty arms, remember that your grief is proof of how much loved and continue to love them. 🤍
