 Most NICU stays are unplanned so with Fallon's Care Cart we hope to provide relief to parents by providing blankets, journals, stuffed animals, self-care, and memory making items that parents can pick out and have on hand in that moment.  We prewash with Dreft and individually package each item before bringing them to the hospital, so the parents are able to use the item at the moment. 

Level 3 (Comprehensive care for seriously ill newborns): Provides care for more seriously ill newborns.

Level 4 (Major surgery and complex conditions): Includes all Level III capabilities, plus experience caring for the most complex and critically ill newborns. Offers surgical repair of complex conditions, such as heart defects

• As of October 2024, 137 babies were admitted to Kootenai Health
• On Average they have 10 babies in the NICUs but have had as high as 21
• A message from the Foundation Coordinator:  The one thing that has been maintained over the years is the relationship-based care provided by the entire care team. We have a very low turnover rate of staff. Last month we hosted a NICU Reunion and had over 140 attendees. Our babies and families really become family!
